Since this is an online course, you can access the course regardless of where you are in the world.
We base the course on the same teaching material as for larger groups, but since this is an individual online course, we have the opportunity to go deeper into different topics according to your wishes and needs. The course is held by an experienced midwife.
We use Confrere which is a video chat tool, so that you can see, hear and talk with the
midwife along the way. The midwife will also share a presentation while she speaks.
The postnatal/postpartum period (the first 6-8 weeks after birth) is a fantastic but also vulnerable time. Greet this life changing time with confidence. We give you the knowledge about what to expect in the first 6 weeks after labor, normal newborn behaviour, how to succeed with breastfeeding and how to cope with common breastfeeding issues. We explain what happens in the postpartum body, why skin-to-skin contact is important and how to understand your baby’s needs. We also talk about the love relationship and contraception.
The course is taken during your pregnancy, so that you can be prepared for breastfeeding and the arrival of your baby. The course is important for both you and your partner.
We hope to give you the necessary knowledge to get the best possible start as parents.
The course covers the following subjects:
- The postpartum period
- The mother’s body
- The newborn baby
- The 4th trimester
- Breastfeeding positions
- Partner’s importance and involvement
- Post partum check-up
