birth preparation course, breastfeeding and postnatal preparation course, online course, webinar

These days we notice a lot of uncertainty and concern about the Covid-19 / corona virus. In particular pregnant women and their partner (parents to be) wonder how this will affect childbirth and the stay at the maternity ward. Worries and uncertainty become even greater when birth preparation courses (birth courses) and postnatal and breastfeeding courses are canceled. Restricted access to conversation with GP and midwives leads to a lack of information, guidance and knowledge, which in turn creates anxiety. Fortunately, we offer «midwife online», an online service where you get to have a videoconference with our experienced midwives and all our courses are now held online as private courses or webinar.

We offer birth preparation course and breastfeeding and postnatal preparation course online. You can choose either a private online course where the midwife will have a course for you and your partner, or you can participate in a webinar where also be other people are attending online. There is no need for any app or downloading of programs. We´ll send you a link before the course starts and you´ll connect with your computer, ipad or phone.

The courses are suitable for all parents to be, regardless of where you´ll give birth.

An experienced midwife will give you the knowledge and information needed to be prepared for giving birth. The birth preparation course focuses on the normal labor process and is designed to increase your knowledge of the body’s innate resources.  Our course will lead you to feel involved and safely prepared for birth, as well as help to reduce any anxieties you may have.  We will provide you and your partner with the tips and tools for the best possible birth experience.

The course covers the following subjects:

  • Mental and physical preparation for birth
  • Phases of labor and birth
  • Coping with pain
  • When to contact the maternity unit
  • Reception and admission at the maternity ward
  • Partner support
  • Birthing aids
  • Birthing positions

The postnatal/postpartum period (the first 6-8 weeks after birth) is a fantastic but also vulnerable time. Greet this life changing time with confidence. We give you the knowledge about what to expect in the first 6 weeks after labor, normal newborn behaviour, how to succeed with breastfeeding and how to cope with common breastfeeding issues. We explain what happens in the postpartum body, why skin-to-skin contact is important and how to understand your baby’s needs. We also talk about the love relationship and contraception.

The course is taken during your pregnancy, so that you can be prepared for breastfeeding and the arrival of your baby. The course is important for both you and your partner.

We hope to give you the necessary knowledge to get the best possible start as parents.

The course covers the following subjects:

  • The postpartum period
